How to bid: Silent Auction

Register to Bid:

  • To place bids, register to bid here.

  • Once registered, you will receive an email with your bidding number. 

  • If you have already registered, log in by entering your bidding number, phone number, or email address. Then click ‘Go’ and you’re ready to bid!

 
 

Winning Bidders

All winning bidders will get a confirmation email at the close of the auction. 

  • Headlands will reach out to the winning bidder directly about next steps following the sale.

  • All winning bids are final and purchases are non-refundable. 

Condition of the sale

Please note each work ships from a different location. In-kind pick up and delivery will be available to the winning bidder if both the artwork and the buyer are located within the San Francisco Bay Area (on a case-by-case basis). Headlands will connect the winning bidder with the artist/gallery to coordinate shipment and we are happy to provide contact information for our framing & shipping partners. Any shipping, taxes, or related expenses will be the winning bidder’s responsibility.

A Note to Collectors

Headlands Center for the Arts’ Benefit Art Auction is a mission-driven fundraiser with proceeds directly supporting Headlands’ mission, programs, and artists. Headlands respectfully requests that collectors do not resell purchased auction artwork. If a collector wishes to resell auction artwork, Headlands asks that collectors offer first right of refusal to the artist and their gallery. This understanding and cooperation will contribute to the sustainability of Headlands Center for the Arts and the Bay Area arts ecosystem.

 

How to Bid: Mieke Marple NFT

  1. Set up a Wallet with Metamask.

  • Download and install the MetaMask browser extension.

  • Select “Create a Wallet.”

  • Create a username and password.

  • Pay close attention to your uniquely assigned Secret Backup Phrase (or “Seed Phrase”), and store it somewhere safe. If you lose this series of words, or forget what order they’re in, you will lose access to your wallet and it will be unrecoverable. We recommend writing the phrase on a piece of paper with pen or permanent marker, and storing it in a memorable, safe, and secure spot.

  • Confirm the phrase by placing all of the words in the correct order as they were assigned.

  • Now, MetaMask is set up and should appear in your browser extensions.

  • If you have any trouble, visit MetaMask Support.

2. Make sure you have enough ETH in your wallet to place a bid and pay for gas fees. 

  • Through the Metamask browser extension, click “Buy” and follow the prompts to purchase ETH.

  • You’ll need to pay a gas fee each time you place a bid. Learn more about gas fees here.

3. Click here to go to Mieke Marple’s artwork page.

4. Click “Place a bid.”

  • All bids must exceed the current bid by 10% or 0.1 ETH, whichever is less.

5. After you place a bid, your wallet will prompt you to confirm the transaction and pay a gas fee to complete the process. 

  • The funds will then be taken out of your wallet and placed in escrow in Foundation’s smart contract. If you’re outbid, funds will be deposited back into your wallet.

You will receive a notification if you are outbid and will be allowed to place another bid if the auction is still active.
