About the Artwork
Victoria Wagner's abstract compositions inhabit perpetual space and vibrational color relationships, conceptually exploring the environment, climate collapse, and the role of beauty in art and human perception. Her research combines knowledge pursuits running the gamut from interplanetary exploration to spiritual transcendence; she has found great inspiration in the writings of cosmonauts, indigenous memoirists, industrial designers, mystics, arborists, social anthropologists, and archaeologists. Making the connection between the infinite nature of the cosmos, our physical fragility, and our boundless emotional landscape, Wagner’s work and research marry the esoteric, mystic, natural, mysterious, and future possible. She has exhibited in the Bay Area at Southern Exposure; Bedford Gallery; Lesher Center for the Arts; The Lab; Headlands Center for the Arts; Don Soker Contemporary Art; Andrea Schwartz Gallery; Blankspace Gallery; Sonoma County Museum; di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art; and Maybaum Gallery, who now represents her work. She has also exhibited at Brewery Project, Los Angeles, and Dose Projects, Brooklyn.
